Sportsometry has served the New Haven Community since 2005.  After 18 successful years of supporting underserved children in 28 sites with over 2,000 students, Sportsometry’s funding has ended, and will not offer the program going forward.

      From the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the teaching environment has made attendance and related research a challenge.  We held a summer camp in the 2021 and 2022, but because they are relatively short, it has been difficult for us to obtain adequate funding for year-round offerings.

     We appreciate that our worksites have included churches, private schools, public schools, community agencies, and community centers.  It has been a true gift to work with our staff, our students, and these organizations. We are extremely grateful for the grants we have received and the opportunity to contribute to the community. Sportsometry has worked with organizations, such as the Yale School of Management Nonprofit Fellows Program, The Yale Golf Team, The Community Foundation of Greater New Haven, the United Way, and others. Using statistical research, we evaluated our teaching model and modified it over time.  Nonetheless, the time has come for us to say goodbye to our team, who loved and served the New Haven Community since we founded Sportsometry back in 2005.  With enormous gratitude, on behalf of all who support our initiative, we say thank you. We believe that we made a difference in the lives of the children we nurtured and the community we serve. Thank you.
